FORENSIC & INVESTIGATIVE GROUP
Resolving complex financial matters.
Wilkinson Forensic Accounting is a division of Wilkinson & Company that focuses on resolving complex financial matters. There are many instances where forensic accounting expertise is required; the dissolution of a business partnership or a martial breakdown, criminal allegations, litigation, to quantify losses, determine assets and liabilities, or to act as a family mediator.
Wilkinson was a founding member of the Canadian Division of the National Association of Forensic Accountants in 1993 and is one of the premier forensic firms in Ontario.
We provide individuals, lawyers and insurance claims adjusters with cost efficient and effective investigation and reporting, and credible expert testimony. We specialize in litigation support and analysis; business support and analysis; and family law support and analysis.
Wilkinson understands the sensitive nature of cases that require our forensic accounting services and we are dedicated to providing exceptional reporting, advice, testimony and mediation so that we may deliver fair and balanced solutions for our clients.

Martin Gravelle leads Wilkinson & Company's valuation practice as the firm's partner-level Chartered Business Valuator — and the client-facing lead on every valuation and forensic engagement the firm undertakes.
His practice covers the full range of matters that require an independent, defensible CBV opinion: matrimonial and family law valuations, shareholder disputes, litigation support, lender and financing valuations, succession and estate planning, and tax-driven corporate reorganizations. He works regularly with family law lawyers, commercial litigators, commercial lenders, and Wilkinson's own tax and advisory partners across Eastern Ontario's Toronto-to-Ottawa corridor.
Martin holds four professional designations: Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CGA), Chartered Business Valuator (CBV), and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). Forensic capability and valuation expertise are closely linked in the matters he handles, and his CFE designation means he brings investigative rigour to valuation files involving complex financial structures, disputed records, or potential fraud elements.
He leads a two-CBV team alongside Rob Deacon, CBV — a retired Wilkinson partner with 30 to 40 years of valuation experience who continues to contribute actively as a senior technical advisor. Having two designated CBVs at a regional Eastern Ontario firm provides added capacity for complex and concurrent files, while ensuring every engagement benefits from significant institutional knowledge and technical depth.
Martin has been a partner at Wilkinson since joining the firm in 2017. He is based out of Wilkinson's Kingston office, with the firm's other offices in Belleville and Trenton serving the Eastern Ontario core.
When he's not working on a valuation file, Martin can usually be found outdoors — camping, fishing, or cheering on the Jays!
