"We really do have top bench strength expertise in all technical areas. The firm has a wide breadth of exposure in terms of industries and services, with a heavy emphasis on tax knowledge. We have specialized expertise and we take a real interest in both the personal and financial well being of our clients.”

About

Brian Kehoe started his career at Wilkinson as a summer student in 1982. He received his CA designation in 1986 and became partner three years later, and since then has held many leadership positions within the firm.

Having completed the CICA In-Depth Tax Course in 1988, Brian made taxation, and eventually purchase and sale transitions, corporate reorganizations and estate planning his areas of specialty. Brian focuses on small to medium sized enterprises and is especially skilled in delivering creative solutions to owner-managed businesses. His comprehensive knowledge of the issues inherent in selling or purchasing a business allows him to confidently negotiate a deal - whether he’s discussing a sale worth thousands of dollars, or in a Toronto boardroom finalizing a deal worth millions.

Brian is actively involved in making sure his clients achieve their personal and business objectives. “I enjoy sitting down with an entrepreneur and laying out a detailed estate plan for them that is tax efficient and family appropriate. I find it personally satisfying to see the transfer of a legacy to the next generation, and making sure it is fair and balanced.”

With taxation rules becoming more complex, Brian’s expertise is indispensable when dealing with taxation authorities. His reputation as a highly respected accountant means he is often brought in as an advisor in matters of dispute for estate transfers or shareholder disagreements.

A dedicated athlete, Brian spends much of his free time playing sports and coaching competitive hockey. “It’s a unique opportunity to be in a coaching environment where you get to teach kids to focus on working with their team mates to collectively reach competitive goals; where they learn to be accountable and work with the skills within the group,” says Brian. “It’s an important lesson to pass on - and one I know applies in almost every aspect of life that involves work and human interaction.”
