“Clients usually require delivery of service with a deadline, so I tend to deal with the ‘here and now.’ If you are a client and you need something done, I act quickly - but I use that interaction with the client as an opportunity to listen to the client’s vision. So, I will help you do what you need to do right now, but I will also make sure to set you up for what you need to do in the future.”
Tim Clark was a summer student at Wilkinson from 1997 to 1999. In 2000, he joined a national firm in Ottawa and obtained his CA in 2003. A year later he re-joined Wilkinson and was promoted to Assurance Manager in 2010.
Today Tim is enjoying his new role as the firm’s most recent Partner. He takes pride in Wilkinson’s reputation for personable service. “We have a small firm feel with big firm resources,” Tim says. “We go out of our way to find the small details that can make a big difference. I remember a client who had neglected to file personal tax returns for several years due to a family tragedy. Not only were we able to get all the penalties and interest waived, but we also advised the client of the ability to claim disability tax credits, which saved the family several thousands of dollars in tax. It’s cases like that that make you feel good - when you can use your knowledge, resources and energy to help someone who is in trouble turn it all around.”
As a former summer student who is now a permanent valued member of the Wilkinson team, Tim contributes his expertise to the already vast amount of experience at the firm, and enjoys continuing the legacy of exceptional client service.
