Taking care of the details
New ElderCare service delivers peace of mind

by R.G. (Rob) Deacon, CA, CFE

Growing older means different things to different people. For some, the golden years mean the freedom to pursue new goals and opportunities, to enjoy the company of family and friends, and to take advantage of the finer things in life.

For others, aging means finding themselves alone, without the care and assistance they need to live a full and independent life.

At Wilkinson & Company LLP, we recognize that everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy their later years with dignity and peace of mind. That’s why we’ve introduced our new ElderCare service, a special program designed to meet the personal and financial needs of the elderly in our community.

This new service comes at a time when the number of seniors living on their own is at an all-time high. With children and grandchildren living in other cities across the country, many of these individuals must handle everyday challenges like banking, health care and household maintenance without the help of a close family member.

Facing these tasks alone can be a major source of stress, particularly when seniors must deal with complex financial and investment matters. In some cases, individuals left on their own after the death of a spouse find themselves handling these types of issues for the first time in their lives.

To help relieve the burden of day-to-day financial affairs, such as banking, budgeting and bill payment, Wilkinson & Company LLP now offers a wide range of customized services for seniors. These include:

  • Regular visits and phone calls
  • Routine banking and bill payments
  • Budget preparation
  • Filing of special forms and applications
  • Assistance with urgent home maintenance matters
  • Monitoring of home care providers and household services
  • Advice on wills and estate planning
  • Preparation of personal and estate tax returns
  • Regular reporting to client and family members

As your ElderCare representative, we can tailor our services to meet your specific needs with the patience and respect you deserve. Besides managing your financial matters, we can also take care of more personal affairs, like monitoring the provision of in-home care or arranging for urgent maintenance when required. Over the years, we’ve formed relationships with many professionals in other fields, and can work together with them to provide whatever assistance you may require.

Most importantly, we report to you -- and to your family members, if you choose -- on a regular basis to provide peace of mind to you and those who care about your well being. By keeping your loved ones informed, we can put their minds at ease as well as your own.

Living in a different city from an elderly parent can often lead to heightened worries and anxieties; with ElderCare, however, your children and family members can rest assured that someone is checking in on you and looking out for your best interests.

Providing ElderCare service is a natural fit for Wilkinson & Company LLP. Many of the clients we serve today have been with us for years, even decades. As they approach their golden years, a number of these individuals rely on us more frequently to take care of the little details in their life. Since integrity and trust are at the heart of every relationship we build with our clients, when it comes time to provide enhanced services, we’re often a client’s first choice for personal assistance.

Whatever your needs may be as a senior, we’re here to listen, and suggest a plan that will help make your life a little bit easier. If you feel that you could benefit from our new ElderCare service, we’re just a phone call away.
