Wilkinson Holds First Receptions to Honour
Scholarship Award Winners
As part of the continuing evolvement of Wilkinson & Company LLPs Secondary School Scholarship Awards Program, the firm hosted its first ever receptions for student winners and their parents. This was an opportunity for students to meet Wilkinson partners and staff and an opportunity for the Firm to meet with students and talk about their exciting plans for the future. The receptions were held in the firms Belleville and Kingston offices and altogether at total of 75 students and parents enjoyed some hospitality and the opportunity to be introduced to the firm and learn about summer and co-op employment opportunities.
The partners of Wilkinson & Company LLP have long realized the importance of continuing education for our local secondary school students. They recognize that high school students who go on to study accounting can be the Firms "employees of tomorrow". As a result, the Wilkinson & Company LLP Secondary School Scholarship Awards Program began several years ago.
The program was founded in order to offer encouragement for these students to pursue continuing education and each year a scholarship in the amount of $150 is given to the student with the highest mark in a business-related course. One scholarship is presented to each of the secondary schools in the Quinte area and in Kingston.
Many past recipients of our scholarship have gone on to pursue careers as Chartered Accountants and have enjoyed the benefits of the Wilkinson & Company LLP Articling Program. Wilkinson & Company LLP is proud of their community and the enormous potential that is derived from the youth in our area.
